MARK PAGEL is an evolutionary biologist and head of the Evolution Laboratory at the University of Reading. He builds statistical models to examine the evolutionary processes imprinted in human behavior, from genomics to the emergence of complex systems to culture. He is also a fellow of the Royal Society.
