JOSEF PENNINGER serves as a scientific director of the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (IMBA). He serves as a member of the advisory board and a member of the supervisory board at APEIRON Biologics AG. He is a professor of genetics at the University of Vienna, an adjunct full professor of immunology and medical biophysics at the University of Toronto, and holds a honorary professorship from the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. He studied medicine and arts at the University Innsbruck and worked as a post-doctoral fellow since 1990 at the Ontario Cancer Institute.
