ALAN ALDA, an actor, writer and director, appeared as the physicist Richard Feynman in the stage play QED at Lincoln Center in New York and hosted the PBS program Scientific American Frontiers for eleven years. He has won awards for public service from the National Science Board and the American Chemical Society.
