JERRY COYNE
is a professor in the department of ecology and evolution at the University
of Chicago, where he works
on diverse areas of evolutionary genetics. The main focus of his laboratory
is on the original problem raised by Darwin — the origin of species
— and on understanding this process through the genetic patterns
it produces. He is also interested speciation, ecological and evolutionary
genetics, particularly if they involve Drosophila. Further
