Deena Skolnick Weisberg
DEENA SKOLNICK WEISBERG is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Center for Cognitive Science at Rutgers University. She received her B.S. in cognitive science from Stanford University in 2003, and she earned her Ph.D. from Yale University in 2008. Weisberg’s research focuses primarily on the cognitive skills underlying the creation and representation of non-real representations — including stories, pretend games, and counterfactual scenarios — and on the roles that these representations play in child development. She has also conducted research on children's moral reasoning and on the ways in which adults misinterpret scientific findings, especially those of neuroscience. Her work has been published in a variety of scholarly journals, including Cognition, The Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience, and Science.
